Foraging Courses for Beginners

Join us in the Irish countryside as we take time to learn about wild plants. With more and more time spent on screens, we often forget to stop and smell the roses every once in a while. Our foraging courses will teach you how to identify wild plants, hunt for edible mushrooms and learn about harvesting shellfish and seaweed by the coast.

Our foraging courses last approximately 3 – 4 hours, depending on what we find and how far into the woods we travel. We will take you to remote parts of the Irish countryside, soaking up the landscape and enjoying getting to know one another.

Popular plants that we might stumble upon on our day long foraging adventures include: Black medic, elderflowers, meadowsweet, clovers, sorrel, seabeet, mushrooms, edible leaves, Yarrow, Cat’s Ear, dandelions (different varieties), bitter cress, bull thistle, wild asparagus, berries and seaweeds (many different varieties).

If you are interested in taking part you will find all of our updated foraging courses available here.

If you are planning a foraging adventure with friends or a food filled trip to Europe you will enjoy the discovering the best of the East and West on our Taste of Ireland Tour, which includes elements of forest foraging and coastal foraging by the sea.
