Arrive and explore the magical city of Porto. This evening we will enjoy getting to know each other while sipping some local Port and tasting the local Petiscos (the Portuguese version of tapas).
Today we explore Porto with our local guide who will bring us to some of the hidden gems in the city and enlighten us with some folklore.
In the morning we will visit the local Mercado do Bolhao where vendors show off their goods. Pick up a souvenir or two perhaps? In the afternoon we will visit the impressive Bolsa Palace and stop by the Livraria Lello, an iconic bookshop in the city centre.
To finish the day we enjoy a glass of local Port under the Luis I bridge.
You be transported early in the morning. After a short drive alongside the amazing terraced vineyards you will arrive at our destination for a welcome picnic.You will stop for a pre-prepared picnic with a sip of wine of course.
We will visit two vineyards today to meet the producers and learn about the local wine production. Enjoy sampling the Vinho Verde and getting to know the local culture.
Finish with an overnight stay in the Valley where you can relax and explore the area.
This is a wine filled day full of treats. Along the way you will stop for a picturesque, pre-packed picnic and enjoy soaking up the Douro landscape.
Once you get to the valley you will meet with local producers and enjoy tasting some of the famous wines of the Douro Valley.
After a tipple or two you will visit a local Olive Oil Factory to meet with the farmers who harvest the olives and learn about the production process. Enjoy tasting the olives and the oil on offer.
After a Portuguese breakfast you will be transferred back to the lively city of Porto and we say goodbye and wish you well on your future food filled adventures.
