If you are an outdoor lover and a cycling enthusiast than this is the perfect tour for you. Being close to the mountains and the sea you can have the best of both worlds, passing the orchards by day and finishing by the sea in the evening with a swim. The weather in this part of Spain is even temperate in the winter months, making it the perfect year round destination.

Day 1: Meet at Alicante Airport for transfer to Tárbena, depending on the time available explore the village or choose on of the shorter walks.

Day 2: Tárbena – Moorish Castle – Iberian Settlement – Tárbena Walking time: 3 hours. Distance: 7 km. Ascents: 360m Descents: 360m This circular route starts with an ascent to the ruins of the Moorish castle that overlooks the village, passing some houses we find the old trail that leads up to the Castle. This walk serves as a good introduction to the layout of the valley and surrounding mountains you will explore over the next week.

Day 3: Plans D’Alt to Tárbena Walking time: 5 hours. Distance: 13.3 km. Ascents: 240m. Descents: 370m A walk through the tranquil countryside of the Plans´D’Alt with the Sierra de Aixortá dominating the skyline. The landscape is a mixture of pinewoods, fruit orchards and almond groves and the first stop Serra de Serrella rock arches followed by the Pas Tancat gorge.

Day 4: Tárbena – Font d’Olbis – Tárbena Walking time: 4 to 5 hours. Distance: 12.4 km. Ascents: 515m. Descents 515 m. A circular route that passes five freshwater-springs, no need for a water bottle today, and a tour of the northern end of the Tárbena Valley. The route includes a variety of landscapes and geological formations.

Day 5: Tárbena To The Algar Falls. Walking time: 5 to 6 hours Distance: 16 km Ascents: 330m Descents: 770m Today you explore the southern end of the Tárbena Valley and the Sacos Valley to finish at the Algar Falls, a series of waterfalls and natural rock pools formed as the Sacos River is forced through a narrow gorge.

Day 6: Coll de Rates to Jalon Walking Time: 3 hours. Distance: 10 km Ascents: 79m Descents: 523m Today you explore the adjacent Jalon Valley, famous for its vineyards, fine wines and the sweet white Mistela typical of the area. The route starts from the Coll de Rates from where you have panoramic views of the Tárbena Valley, the Sierra de Ferrer and the Jalon Valley with its whitewashed villages, vineyards and citrus groves set out in neat rows.
