UNESCO world heritage sites, delicious barolo wines and the famous white truffle await on this once in a lifetime guided tour in Italy.

If you have been dreaming of the rolling vineyards of Italy then you are going to be in heaven when you arrive at your destination. Take time to enjoy your medieval surroundings and get to know the history of the area.

On this tour you will have the chance to sample the pungent white truffle and taste some of the most exclusive wines in the Piedmont region of Italy. Each day is a perfect combination of nature, food and discovery as you are guided through this amazing food experience.

You will learn about the traditional wine making processes, sampling the excellent Barbaresco reds and getting a feel for the warm local welcome.

Each guided tour in Italy includes wine cellar tours, barolo wine tastings, truffle hunting excursions, farmstay accommodation and authentic Italian tasting menus.

Day 1

Individual arrivals and check-in at the chosen charming accommodation. Dinner all together to start savouring the local delicacies. Overnight stay.

Day 2

After a rich breakfast, transfer to a local selected wine cellar to live the extraordinary experience of the vintage side by side with the wine producers to share the hard work of harvesting and to feel the atmosphere of the family farms. You will learn about the vine life cycle with special attention to the harvest, the most important step of winegrowing, and then about the wine making process in the wine cellar, that leads from the grape to the wine. Wine Tasting to close the activity.

Free time for lunch and meeting with our local guide to discover the Barolo and Barbaresco hills, along the Unesco Vineyard Landscapes which run parallel to the river Tanaro. In the Langhe hills, the Nebbiolo vine species has three elective areas: Barolo, Barbaresco and Roero, all
lying in a radius of 15 km from the town of Alba.

The composition of the soil in the Barolo area is so particular as to change from hill to hill for different blends of elegance, longevity and majesty – the elements typical of Barolo. The clay-limestone composition of the soil in the Barbaresco area is enriched with sand and blue marl, making the wines in this are famous for their natural elegance and feminine persuasive touch. Guided visit to a family-run wine cellar in Barbaresco, with tasting.

Day 3

After a rich breakfast, meeting with the driver and the local guide. Outing in the woods for an exciting excursion looking for the prestigious truffles with the truffle-hunter and his trained dog. This is the most exciting of experiences for truffle enthusiasts. A hunter accompanied by his dog will lead the group into the woods to seek out the precious underground tuber, guided only by the dog’s sense of smell and the intuition resulting from years of experience. The expert hunter will who will provide all the information essential to understanding how, where and why truffles grow. (Black truffles – the hunt for Alba White Trufflles opens officially on the 21st of September, but it will depend on the weather conditions).

Free time for lunch in a tiny town centre.
In the afternoon, guided visit to Alba town centre – the second Creative Unesco City for Gastronomy in Italy (there is also Parma). The ancient town reveals its special appeal in the picturesque charm of numerous
towers and houses surviving from an urban system dating back thousands of years. Today the towers continue to be the dominant feature of the old town centre, where visitors can admire churches, belltowers, porticos, and public and private buildings testifying to its splendid history. At the same time, nice boutiques, elegant typical products shops and art exhibitions show its vivid and cosmopolitan attitude in a characteristic and traditional frame. Possibility to stop a Truffle Boutique to taste and buy truffle products.
