What to Expect
Every stopping point of this adventure is a treat for the senses. Enjoy taking in the sights of some of the best loved towns in Andalucia: Seville, Carmona and Granada are just a few. You will stay in old country cottages and boutique hotels. Discover the beauty of the Spanish countryside and the culture in the major cities. Along the way you will visit some amazing olive groves and soak-up the atmosphere of the wonderful city of Granada with all of it’s architectural gems.
Day 1 – Seville
Seville Cathedral The cycling tour begins when we collect you from Seville airport or train station. Seville is a vibrant and lively city with thousands of years of history within the city walls.
After checking into the hotel, you can take advantage of our tour of the city; taking in the three UNESCO world heritage sights that lie in Seville, including the largest gothic Cathedral in the world. In the evening we will introduce you to Andalucia’s favourite past-time: tapas dining.
Day 2 – Italica & Carmona
Italica From our hotel in the centre of Seville we will take cycle paths out of the city and head towards the ancient Roman city of Italica.
Distance: 25-78km (16-48 miles)
Day 3 – Guadalquivir River & Palma del Río
Subbetica Natural Park We leave Carmona on a pleasant trail passing orange fields, cactus and dry river beds.
Distance: 32-68km (20-42 miles)
Day 4 – Medina Azahara & Córdoba
Medina Azahara, Cordoba From Palma del Rio we take a cross country trail on the edge of the Sierra Morena natural park, reaching the beautiful hilltop castle in Almodovar del Rio, which dates from the 8th century.
Distance: 25-75km (16-47 miles)
Day 5 – Subbetica Natural Park
Zuheros After the delights of Cordoba, the holiday continues into the tranquil Subbetica Natural park, home to millions of olive trees and excellent rolling cycling terrain.
Distance: 40-66km (25-41 miles)
Day 6 – Priego de Córdoba
Alcazar Continuing through the beautiful Subbetica national park, with fantastic natural features this is one of the most enjoyable days cycling.
Distance: 30-52km (19-32 miles)
Day 7 – Montefrío
Montefrio From Priego de Cordoba we stop at Almedinilla: a Roman village with an excellent archaelogical museum including the remains of a Roman settlement.
Distance: 36-69km (22-43 miles)
Day 8 – Granada
Alhambra Palace, Granada The final day in the saddle leaves Montefrio and crosses the quiet Vega Natural Park, finishing in Granada – the jewel in the crown of Spanish history.
Distance: 35-72km (22-45 miles)
