What to Expect
Is there a better way to get to know the places you visit then by getting a taste of the land around you? Our wild foraging tour will take you on a foodie journey in Ireland. You will go in search of the treasures of the landscape.
Broaden your palate with a walk through the magical Wicklow countryside. Get to know some of Ireland’s edible plants such as Wild garlic, nettles, wild berries and elderflowers. This tour gives you the chance to taste the produce, walk the forest paths and have a home-cooked meal at the foragers home.
This is a food packed tour to remember. You will stay in rural hotels and farm houses along the way.
DAY 1
Meet your local foraging guide in Dublin city centre for a guided walk around the historic capital. After a bite to eat in a cafe you will make your way to the heart of the Wicklow countryside. Here you will enjoy walking the forest trails (don’t forget your walking shoes or boots and a light rainjacket). We will stumble upon wild edible foods, pick the berries and enjoy the scenery of the garden of Ireland.
In the evening you will be invited to dine with your forager. Here we will cook up some warm dishes and learn our secret recipe for nettle soup.
DAY 2
We will spend the second in the heart of Dublin City. Enjoy a stroll along the cobbled streets after breakfast before departing for a guided walk in the local food market. Let’s feast on some comforting Irish stew for lunch before we head for the coast for our final foodie adventure that takes us to the local rock pools where we will discovery Irish seaweeds and shellfish.
