Three cider farms sit within walking distance of Ulvik, at the head of one of Norway's great fjords. Come for the May blossom or the October harvest, each marked by its own festival.

The weekend
Friday
Bergen to Ulvik
Train to Voss, then on to Ulvik at the head of the fjord. Supper with fjord trout and a first glass of Hardanger cider.
Saturday
The cider route
Walk between the three cider farms, with a tasting at each and lunch in the orchards.
Saturday evening
A fjord supper
A sunset walk by the water, then a supper built round apples.
Sunday
Orchards and home
A slow morning in the orchards, then back to Bergen.
Signature upgrade
Time it with Siderslepp, the cider festival in May, or Fruktslepp, the harvest festival in October.
