The hands-on moment
Walk the Camino Portugués into Albariño country, cross the estuary by boat past the mussel rafts, and finish in Santiago.
Day by day
Day 1
Tui
Arrive across the Minho from Portugal. Welcome supper with a Vinho Verde and Albariño tasting from both banks of the river.
Day 2
Tui to O Porriño (~16 km)
Forest paths and the first credencial stamp. A picnic of Galician cheeses and empanada.
Day 3
O Porriño to Redondela (~16 km)
Descend to the Vigo estuary for octopus á feira cooked in copper pots.
Day 4
Redondela to Pontevedra (~20 km)
Coastal pine woods into the old town, then a tapas evening in the plazas.
Day 5
Pontevedra to Armenteira (~21 km)
Join the Spiritual Variant through vineyards to the Cistercian monastery. Supper with the first Albariño pazo wines.
Day 6
Armenteira to Cambados (~24 km)
The Ruta da Pedra e da Auga, a river path past old stone mills, down to the sea. Tasting at a pazo winery in Cambados, the Albariño capital.
Day 7
The sea crossing
A boat from Vilanova de Arousa past the mussel rafts and up the River Ulla, the route legend says carried St James to Galicia. Mussels on board, then a short walk to Padrón for its famous peppers.
Day 8
Padrón to Santiago (~25 km)
Walk into the Obradoiro square. Farewell dinner and a slice of tarta de Santiago.

Depart Santiago
